Cool! Thanks for sharing the demo video. ...OK I guess I believe you now.

I've never played with the Line 6 variax stuff before, although it's intriquing.

Always nice to get a rare instrument that speaks to you. What's your favorite thing about it thus far?

I like the sounds in the guitar, they are digital and old for tech stuff, its mid 2000's technology, but for all that the sounds are very good and it does exactly what a Fishman Aura imaging pedal does for anyone who DI's their Piezzo equipped Acoustics when playing amplified.
What I really like about it is the feel of it it has a solid feel and whilst the form is small, (and I love big Archtops) It is very comfortable and the neck is very playable.
For what it does this guitar was a game changer ( they don't make anything like it anymore) , so not for long, ahead of its time probably. The Zoom A3 acoustic pedal and Aura imaging pedal using new early onset FFT algolrithms have made seperate string processing for modeling redundant in many respects as have many of the summed midi interfaces, personally I like the 13 pin and divided pick up stuff I have a roland VG88 I am getting a GR55 as my next must have gizmo.
I would recommend a Variax 700 to anyone that wants a big range of guitar sounds that doesn't have the space or funds to get an example of each the main investment one needs to make is a good Acoustic Amp, I assume most guys here have one of those. Combine the Variax 700 with a Zoom A3 or a Fishman Aura imaging pedal and the range of tones available explodes exponentially, the Aura is on my list and I am still wondering whether the cheaper A3 is a better buy, the Aura edges it I think as there are user defined settings and I have made impulse responses for my guitars and the vintage collection of guitars I have sold.
